Funded Sessions

Through the support of Suicide Awareness Prevention U.K., we are able to offer partially funded sessions for individuals seeking immediate one-to-one private support. While we aim to make these sessions as affordable as possible, full coverage is not available for all cases.

To continue providing our support services to more people, we offer counselling and coaching sessions at a reduced rate. In some circumstances, we may ask for a donation based on your ability to contribute. This flexible approach ensures that everyone has the opportunity to access our mental health support services.

How it works:

  1. Eligibility: We will assess your circumstances to determine the level of funding available for your sessions.
  2. Reduced Rate or Donation: Based on available funding and your situation, we offer sessions at a reduced rate or may request a donation to help cover the costs.
  3. Flexible Support: If financial limitations are a concern, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re committed to finding a solution that works for you.

FAQ

Prívate Vs NHS

When comparing private and NHS mental health services, it's important to consider the unique advantages of each. Private services often provide faster appointment times with immediate access, offering more flexibility and a personalised approach. On the other hand, NHS services, while sometimes involving longer waiting periods and limitations still provide valuable support and resources with a little-to-no cost. Both options have their strengths, and it's about finding the best fit for your individual needs and preferences.

Is Umbrella a Charity?

While we dedicate a lot of free time to support charitable organisations, and advocate for positive mental health, our mental health service operates on a paid model to ensure our counsellors can dedicate their full focus on clients.

With this in mind, we understand that private therapy may not always be affordable. That's why we strive to work within your budget by maintaining low prices while sustaining the quality of care we provide. Additionally, we offer various free services, such as guidance on accessing other organisations that provide help at no cost. Feel free to reach out to us to explore how we can support you on your mental health journey.

What’s the difference between Counselling & Life Coaching?

Counseling typically focuses on past experiences, emotions, and mental health issues, aiming to heal and understand oneself better. On the other hand, life coaching is more future-oriented, helping individuals set goals, make plans, and achieve personal or professional success. Both are valuable tools for personal growth and well-being, each with its unique approach and benefits.

How to know which Therapist or Service to choose?

When choosing a therapist or mental health service, it's important to consider a few key factors:

1. Qualifications and Experience: Look for licensed therapists with experience in treating the specific concerns you have.

2. Approach and Compatibility: Consider the therapy approach or techniques used by the therapist, and see if it aligns with your preferences. It's also important to feel comfortable and supported by your therapist.

3. Cost and Insurance: Check if the therapist accepts your insurance or offers a sliding scale payment option that fits your budget.

4. Location and Availability: Choose a therapist whose location and availability work well with your schedule and preferences.
